Welcome to our first blog post of the new year.

2018 will prove to be a challenge for most businesses but we are here to help you navigate the changes that are coming.

Search engine optimization is complex and constantly changing.

Content is still king.  Relevant keyword saturation throughout vital areas of your website are very important.  Your website content should still be written with the visitor in mind and revised to make sure that search engines have your keyword phrase available for indexing.

Other factors still remain the same.  Metatags, Page Titles and Mobile Friendly Design are key factors and should not be overlooked.  Inbound and relevant links, traffic  and site speed along are only a few factors in Google's complex algorithms.

Time to review your local listings for all beneficial data.

SNIPPETS
When a question is asked in a Google search, they may show a result in a special "featured snippet" block at the very top of the search results page - Position 0.  These snippets are only shown on 10% of Google searches.

STRUCTURED DATA
Structured data markup allows for more content that is more meaningful for search engines.

  • Site Name:
    Indicating the name you want to display in a Google search.
  • Site Logo:
    Specify the image that the Google search used
  • Breadcrumbs:
    Show the position of the linked page in your site hierarchy.
  • Sitelinks Searchbox:
    A search box scoped to your website when it appears in results
  • Social Profile Links:
    Add social profile information to the Google knowledge panel
  • Local Business Listing
    Add business info, such as phone, address, map and hours.
